Noted flaw(s) — photographed above: ASE MASTER MECHANIC FINAL INSPECTION OF ENGINE OUT OF VEHICLE: ENGINE RAN GREAT AND HAS GOOD COMPRESSION BUT DID SET A FAULT FOR OIL CONTROL SOLENOID. TURBO FEELS GOOD AND HAS VERY LITTLE RADIAL OR AXIAL PLAY, WATER PUMP FEELS NICE & TIGHT. RECOMMEND REPLACING THE OIL PRESSURE SOLENOID BEFORE PUTTING ENGINE BACK INTO SERVICE.

In-car test: ENGINE RUNS GREAT. ECM SET FAULT FOR OIL CONTROL SOLENOID (TYPICAL, USUALLY JUST A BROKEN PIG TAIL BUT WILL RECOMMEND THE SOLENOID AND PIGTAIL TO BE ON SAFE SIDE) PENDING A COMPRESSION CHECK AND A PHYSICAL CHECK OF ENGINE THIS IS A KEEPER.

Out-of-car inspection: ENGINE LOOKS GREAT OUT OF CAR, TURBO FEELS GOOD VERY LITTLE RADIAL OR AXIAL PLAY. MAIN SEALS LOOK GOOD. WATER PUMP FEELS TIGHT. OTHER THAN OIL CONTROL SOLENOID NEEDING REPLACMENT (VERY COMMON ON THESE) I DON’T HAVE ANY OTHER NOTES ON THIS ENGINE.
