Noted flaw(s) — photographed above: ASE MASTER MECHANIC TEST NOTES & FLAWS NOTED DURING TESTING: (1 - RUNNING ENGINE TEST NOTES): Engine runs good. Starts right up, idles good, and wide open throttle snap sounds good. The oil quality is good and there is no smoke from engine or tail pipes. There are no unusual noises from engine. (2 - POST REMOVAL INSPECTION NOTES): Overall engine looks good, but there is a hairline crack in oil pan about 1/2 inch long and oil pan should be replaced prior to placing engine back into service. There is also a connector that has a broken housing on the wiring harness that should be repaired. Slight weep around valve cover gasket and I suggest that be replaced. The turbo feels good and there is very little radial play and no visable cracks in housing (which is very common on these engines so it may have been replaced already, but in any case looks good on this one).

In-car test: engine appers to be good and no odd noise but the oil pan is damaged and will have to be replaced

Out-of-car inspection: OVERALL ENGINE LOOKS GOOD. THERE IS A HAIRLINE CRACK IN OIL PAN ABOUT A 1/2 INCH LONG AND IT SHOULD BE REPLACED , THERE IS ALSO A CONNECTOR THAT HAS A BROKEN HOUSING ON THE HARNESS THAT SHOULD BE REPAIRED. NOTED A SLIGHT WEEP AROUND VALVE COVER GASKET, SUGGEST IT BE REPLACED. TURBO FEELS GOOD VERY LITTLE RADIAL PLAY AND NO VISABLE CRACKS IN HOUSING (VERY COMMON ON THESE SO MAY HAVE BE REPLACE ONCE ALREADY, JUST SPECULATION)
