ASE Master Mechanic Inspection

ASE MASTER MECHANIC TEST NOTES & FLAWS NOTED DURING TESTING: (1 - RUNNING ENGINE TEST NOTES): Engine runs good. It starts right up, idle is nice and smooth, and wide open throttle snap sounds good. The oil quality looks good and there is no smoke from tail pipes. There are no unusual noises from operating engine; (2 - POST REMOVAL INSPECTION NOTES): Engine overall looks good. Water pump feels good, valve cover has a small oil weep but it's very small (I'd recommend replacing gasket while it's out and easy). Front and rear mains look dry. The oil pan also does not appear to have any leaks. The turbo feels good with minimal radial or axial play. there is one connector on engine that has broken housing (you could zip tie but I recommend replacing the plug housing!. Overall a nice looking engine assembly.

In-car test: ENGINE RUNS GOOD, HAS A NICE SMOOTH IDLE QUALITY, PENDING A COMPRESSION TEST AND PHYSICAL CHECK THIS WILL BE A UNIT.
Out-of-car inspection: OVERALL ENGINE LOOKS GOOD. DID NOTE A SMALL WEEP OF OIL AROUND VALVE COVER BUT ITS VERY SMALL, NOTED A BROKEN CONNECTOR HOUSTING AS WELL (YOU COULD ZIP TIE IT BUT I SUGGEST REPLACING HOUSING) TURBO FEELS NICE, VERY LITTLE RADIAL AND AXIAL PLAY. AS ALWAYS, RECOMMEND ANY SERVICE AND WEAR ITEMS SUCH AS TIMING CHAINS, BELTS, GUIDES , TENSIONERS, SPARK PLUGS , INJECTORS, PUMPS, SEALS ,GASKETS AND FILTER BE SERVICED BEFORE ENGINE BE PUT BACK INTO SERVICE.
