ASE MASTER MECHANIC TEST NOTES & FLAWS NOTED DURING TESTING: (1 - RUNNING ENGINE TEST NOTES): Engine runs good. It starts right up, idle is nice and smooth, and wide open throttle snap sounds good. The oil quality looks good and there is no smoke from tail pipes. There are no unusual noises from operating engine; (2 - POST REMOVAL INSPECTION NOTES): Engine overall looks good but during removal we damaged the VVT Variable Valve Timing Actuator Motor's connector was destroyed so we removed it and it'll need a new one or if one from old engine still good you can use it.. Water pump feels good, and the only oil leaks I see are some oil weeping from valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket and rear main seal. and those gaskets will need replaced and as always I recommend checking any service & wear items such as tensioners, plugs, chains & guides, belts, injectors, pumps seals gaskets before putting engine back on the roadway. Overall a good looking engine assembly especially for it's age.

Note: VALVE TRONIC MOTOR CONNECTOR WAS DAMAGE ON REMOVAL. NO VALVE TRONIC MOTOR WILL EB INCLUDED.

In-car test: ENGINE RUNS GOOD, IDLE IS NICE AND SMOOTH AND WIDE OPEN SNAP SOUNDS GOOD. PENDING A COMPRESSION TEST AND PHYSICAL CHECK THIS WILL BE A KEEPER.

Out-of-car inspection: ENGINE LOOKS GOOD, THE VALVE TRONIC MOTOR WAS DAMAGED ON REMOVAL AND BROKE CONNECTOR SO REMOVED VALVETRONIC MOTOR. ALSO NOTED SMALL OIL LEAKS AROUND VALVE COVER, OIL PAN AND REAR MAIN SEAL. AS ALWAYS, RECOMMEND ANY SERVICE AND WEAR ITEMS SUCH AS TIMING CHAINS, BELTS, GUIDES , TENSIONERS, SPARK PLUGS , INJECTORS, PUMPS, SEALS ,GASKETS AND FILTER BE SERVICED BEFORE ENGINE BE PUT BACK INTO SERVICE.
