ASE MASTER MECHANIC TEST NOTES & FLAWS NOTED DURING TESTING: (1 – RUNNING ENGINE TEST NOTES): Engine runs good with very nice idle quality and strong throttle snap. No abnormal noises noted, and turbo sounded good during operation. (2 – POST REMOVAL INSPECTION NOTES): Overall engine looks good. Inspector observed oil weeps around the valve cover and oil cooler area. The timing belt shows signs of aging and should be replaced. Turbo felt tight with minimal radial play and almost no axial play. As always, we recommend replacement of standard service and wear items (timing components, plugs, injectors, pumps, seals, gaskets, and filters) before installation to ensure long-term reliability.

In-car test: ENGINE RUNS GOOD, VERY NICE IDLE QUALITY AND THE THROTTLE SNAP SOUNDS GOOD. PENDING A COMPRESSION TEST AND PHYSICAL CHECK THIS WILL BE A UNIT.

Out-of-car inspection: OVERALL ENGINE LOOKS GOOD, DID NOTE SOME OIL WEEPS AROUND VALVE COVER AND OIL COOLER AREA, TIMING BELT SHOWS SIGNS OF AGING AND I SUGGEST IT BE REPLACED. TURBO FEEL PRETTY TIGHT, MINIMAL RADIAL PLAY AND ALMOST NO AXIAL PLAY. AS ALWAYS, RECOMMEND ANY SERVICE AND WEAR ITEMS SUCH AS TIMING CHAINS, BELTS, GUIDES , TENSIONERS, SPARK PLUGS , INJECTORS, PUMPS, SEALS ,GASKETS AND FILTER BE SERVICED BEFORE ENGINE BE PUT BACK INTO SERVICE.
