(1 - RUNNING ENGINE TEST NOTES): Engine runs great, starts right up, idle is smooth, and wide-open throttle snap sounds good. Oil quality looks good and there's no smoke from the tailpipes. Some wastegate rattle on cold start which is typical. No unusual noises heard from the operating engine. (2 - POST REMOVAL INSPECTION NOTES): Engine overall looks solid with some leaks noted. Oil pan gasket, rear main seal and oil pressure control solenoid o-rings need to be replaced. Valve covers don't appear to be leaking. Turbo feels tight with minimal radial or axial play, and wastegates have typical movement. (3 - SHOULD ALWAYS BE DONE): Replacement of timing components, plugs, injectors, pumps, seals, gaskets, hoses, and filters should be done prior to installation for long-term reliability.

In-car test: ENGINE RUNS GOOD, IDLE IS NICE AND SMOOTH AND WIDE OPEN THROTTLE SNAP SOUNDS GOOD. RADIATOR WASN’T HIT SO COOLANT SUPPLY WASN’T COMPROMISED ON THIS ONE. PENDING A COMPRESSION TEST AND PHYSICAL CHECK THIS WILL BE A UNIT.

Out-of-car inspection: OVERALL ENGINE LOOKS GOOD, DID NOTE THAT THERES AN OIL LEAK FROM OIL PAN GASKET, REAR MAIN AND OIL PRESSURE CONTROL SOLENOID O RINGS. SOME ONE HAS DONE VALVE COVER AND OIL FILTER HOUSING ALREADY. AS ALWAYS, RECOMMEND ANY SERVICE AND WEAR ITEMS SUCH AS TIMING CHAINS, BELTS, GUIDES , TENSIONERS, SPARK PLUGS , INJECTORS, PUMPS, SEALS ,GASKETS AND FILTER BE SERVICED BEFORE ENGINE BE PUT BACK INTO SERVICE.
