(1 - RUNNING ENGINE TEST NOTES): Engine runs great, starts right up, idle is smooth, and wide-open throttle snap sounds good. Oil quality looks good and there's no smoke from the tailpipes. Slight wastegate rattle on cold start which is typical. No unusual noises heard from the operating engine. (2 - POST REMOVAL INSPECTION NOTES): Engine overall looks solid with no major issues found during teardown. Valve cover has slight oil weep, and both front and rear mains look dry. The oil pan also appears leak-free. Turbo feels tight with minimal radial or axial play, and wastegates has some play. (3 - SHOULD ALWAYS BE DONE): Replacement of timing components, plugs, injectors, pumps, seals, gaskets, hoses, and filters should be done prior to installation for long-term reliability.

In-car test: ENGINE RUNS GREAT, VERY SMOOTH IDLE AND WIDE OPEN SNAP SOUNDS GOOD, RADIATOR WASN’T HIT SO COOLING SYSTEM ON THIS WASN’T COMPROMISED. PENDING A COMPRESSION TEST AND PHYSICAL CHECK THIS WILL BE A UNIT.

Out-of-car inspection: OVERALL ENGINE LOOKS GOOD, DID NOTE A SLIGHT OIL WEEP AROUND VALVE COVER, TURBO FEELS PRETTY GOOD ONLY SLIGH RADIAL PLAY NOT MUCH AXIAL PLAY. DOES EXIBIT A LITTLE WASTE GATE PLAY. AS ALWAYS, RECOMMEND ANY SERVICE AND WEAR ITEMS SUCH AS TIMING CHAINS, BELTS, GUIDES , TENSIONERS, SPARK PLUGS , INJECTORS, PUMPS, SEALS ,GASKETS AND FILTER BE SERVICED BEFORE ENGINE BE PUT BACK INTO SERVICE.
