(1 - RUNNING ENGINE TEST NOTES): Engine runs great, starts right up, idle is smooth, and wide-open throttle snap sounds good. Oil quality looks good and there's no smoke from the tailpipes. No unusual noises heard from the operating engine. (2 - POST REMOVAL INSPECTION NOTES): Engine overall looks solid with no major issues found during inspection. Did note a small coolant leak around Turbo supply hose area, Small oil weeps around valve covers, rear main seal and oil pan, these need addressed prior to installation. Turbo feels tight with minimal radial or axial play, and wastegates have some play. (3 - SHOULD ALWAYS BE DONE): Replacement of timing components, plugs, injectors, pumps, seals, gaskets, hoses, and filters should be done prior to installation for long-term reliability.

In-car test: ENGINE RUNS GOOD, IDLE IS VERY SMOOTH AND WIDE OPEN THROTTLE SNAP SOUNDS GOOD. PENDING A COMPRESSION TEST AND PHYSICAL CHECK THIS WILL BE A UNIT.

Out-of-car inspection: OVERALL ENGINE LOOKS GOOD, DID NOTE COOLANT LEAKING OUT TURBO SUPPLY HOSE AREA, ALSO NOTED OIL WEEP AROUND VALVE COVERS, REAR MAIN SEAL AND OIL PAN. TURBOS FEEL PRETTY GOOD, NOT MUCH RADIAL OR AXIAL PLAY AND TURBINES ARE DRY. BOTH HAVE SOME WASTE GATE PLAY. AS ALWAYS, RECOMMEND ANY SERVICE AND WEAR ITEMS SUCH AS TIMING CHAINS, BELTS, GUIDES , TENSIONERS, SPARK PLUGS , INJECTORS, PUMPS, SEALS ,GASKETS AND FILTER BE SERVICED BEFORE ENGINE BE PUT BACK INTO SERVICE.
