(1 - RUNNING ENGINE TEST NOTES): Engine runs great, starts right up, idle is smooth, and wide-open throttle snap sounds good. Oil quality looks good and there's no smoke from the tailpipes. No unusual noises heard from the operating engine. (2 - POST REMOVAL INSPECTION NOTES): Engine overall looks solid with no major leaks or issues found during teardown. ****We damaged the oil pan on engine removal so that will need replaced**** Oil weep at front upper timing cover, valve covers and oil pan gasket. (3 - SHOULD ALWAYS BE DONE): Replacement of timing components, plugs, injectors, pumps, seals, gaskets, hoses, and filters should be done prior to installation for long-term reliability.

A LITTLE WASTE GATE RATTLE ON COLD START BUT GOES AWAY

Noted: VVTI solenoids leaking some oil arount front upper timing covers.

Noted: oil weep around valve covers

Noted: oil wee around oil pan gasket

Note: Oil pan removed, damaged on engine removal. The area that hold snap ring for axle shaft was broken on axle removal. This didnt cause an oil leak

In-car test: Engine runs good, ncie smooth idle and wide open throttle snap sounds good. Radiator wasnt hit so coolant wasnt compromised. Pending a compression test and physical check this will be a unit. Broke the oil pan on engine removal

Out-of-car inspection: Overall engine looks good. Flawing engine for damage we cause on front axle shaft removal to oil pan. This will need a new oil pan. Other than that we noted oil weeping from front upper timing covers , valve covers, and possibly oil pan gasket. As always, I recommend any service and wear items such as timing chains, belts, guides , tensioners, spark plugs , injectors, pumps, seals, gaskets and filter be serviced before engine is put back into service.
