(1 - RUNNING ENGINE TEST NOTES): Engine runs great, starts right up, idle is smooth, and wide-open throttle snap sounds good. Oil quality looks good and there's no smoke from the tailpipes. No unusual noises heard from the operating engine. (2 - POST REMOVAL INSPECTION NOTES): Engine overall looks solid with no major issues found during teardown. Slight oil weep around VVT solenoids, oil pan and rear main seal. Valve covers don't appear to be leaking, and front main looks dry. The plastic coolant pipe at rear of left head is aged and will need replacement. Serpentine belt needs replaced as well, it's aged and cracks are developing. (3 - SHOULD ALWAYS BE DONE): Replacement of timing components, plugs, injectors, pumps, seals, gaskets, hoses, and filters should be done prior to installation for long-term reliability.

Noted: NOTED OIL WEEPING AROUND VVTI SOLENOIDS AT FRONT TIMING COVER, WEEPING AROUND PAN AND POSSIBLY REAR MAIN SEAL.

Note: PLASTIC COOLANT PIPE AT REAR OF LEFT CYLINDER HEAD IS AGED AND WILL NEED REPLACMENT.

In-car test: Engine runs nice, very smooth idle and wide open throttl snap sounds good. Radiator wasnt hit so cooling system wasnt compromised. Pending a compression test and physical check this will be a unit.

Out-of-car inspection: Overall engine looks good. Did note oil weep around vvt solenoids and oil pan and possibly rear main seal as well. noted the plastic coolant pipe at rear of left (driver side) head is aged and will need replacment, will also need a serpintine belt as i can see some small cracks developing. As always, I recommend any service and wear items such as timing chains, belts, guides , tensioners, spark plugs ,injectors, pumps, seals, gaskets and filter be serviced before engine is put back into service.
