(1 - RUNNING ENGINE TEST NOTES): Engine runs great, starts right up, idle is smooth, and wide-open throttle snap sounds good. Oil quality looks good and there's no smoke from the tailpipes. No unusual noises heard from the operating engine. (2 - POST REMOVAL INSPECTION NOTES): Engine overall looks solid with no major issues found during teardown. Valve covers don't appear to be leaking, and both front and rear mains look dry. The oil pan appears to be leaking around the gasket. Wire harness damaged, cannot be used, customer will need to use their own or a replacement. Turbo feels ok, with a little radial and axial play, and wastegates have typical movement, can probably get more miles out of them. (3 - SHOULD ALWAYS BE DONE): Replacement of timing components, plugs, injectors, pumps, seals, gaskets, hoses, and filters should be done prior to installation for long-term reliability.

A LITTLE WASTE GATE RATTLE ON COLD START (COMMON TO THESE)

Note: Turbos have some waste gate play.

Out-of-car inspection: Overall engine looks good, did note oil leaking from around oil pan gasket. Wire harness was dammaged and cannot be used, customer will have to use theirs. Turbos feel ok, a little radial and axial play but can probably get some more miles from them. As always, I recommend any service and wear items such as timing chains, belts, guides , tensioners, spark plugs , injectors, pumps, seals, gaskets and filter be serviced before engine is put back into service.
