ASE MASTER MECHANIC TEST NOTES & FLAWS NOTED DURING TESTING: (1 - RUNNING ENGINE TEST NOTES): Engine runs good. It starts right up, idle is nice and smooth, and wide open throttle snap sounds good. The oil quality looks good and there is no smoke from tail pipes. There are no unusual noises from operating engine; (2 - POST REMOVAL INSPECTION NOTES): Engine overall looks good. valve covers do appear to be starting to have a slight oil weep. Rear main seal is also weeping but the front main remains dry. The oil pan also does not appear to have any leaks however does look like someone has sealed the oil pan and didn't use mercedes sealer so you may want to address that!. Overall a nice looking engine assembly.

In-car test: ENGINE LOOKS GOOD, RADIATOR WASN’T HIT SO COOLANT AND OIL COOLERS WEREN'T COMPROMISED. PENDING A COMPRESSION TEST AND PHYSICAL CHECK THIS WILL BE A UNIT.

Out-of-car inspection: OVERALL ENGINE LOOKS GOOD. DID NOTE THAT REAR MAIN MAY BE WEEPING AND SOMEONE HAS ATTEMPTED TO RE SEAL OIL PAN BUT DOESNT APPER TO BE MERCEDES SEALANT SO MIGHT WANT TO REDO THAT. MAY BE A VERY SMALL OIL WEEP STARTING AROUND VALVE COVERS. AS ALWAYS, RECOMMEND ANY SERVICE AND WEAR ITEMS SUCH AS TIMING CHAINS, BELTS, GUIDES , TENSIONERS, SPARK PLUGS , INJECTORS, PUMPS, SEALS ,GASKETS AND FILTER BE SERVICED BEFORE ENGINE BE PUT BACK INTO SERVICE.
