(1 - RUNNING ENGINE TEST NOTES): Engine runs great, starts right up, idle is smooth, and wide-open throttle snap sounds good. Oil quality looks good and there's no smoke from the tailpipes. No unusual noises heard from the operating engine. (2 - POST REMOVAL INSPECTION NOTES): Engine overall looks solid with no major issues found during teardown. Noted oil weep around valve cover, rear main seal and oil pan. Turbo feels tight with minimal radial or axial play, and wastegates have typical movement. (3 - SHOULD ALWAYS BE DONE): Replacement of timing components, plugs, injectors, pumps, seals, gaskets, hoses, and filters should be done prior to installation for long-term reliability.

In-car test: Engine runs good, nice idle quality and wide open throttle snap sounds good. Radiator wasnt hit so coolant supply wasnt compromised. Pending a compression test and physical check this will be a unit.

Out-of-car inspection: Overall engine looks good. Did note oil weep around valve cover, rear main seal and oil pan. Turbo feels pretty good, does have some radial and axial play to be expected for a turbo with 100k miles on it. As always, I recommend any service and wear items such as timing chains, belts, guides , tensioners, spark plugs , injectors, pumps, seals, gaskets and filter be serviced before engine is put back into service.
