(1 - RUNNING ENGINE TEST NOTES): Engine runs great, starts right up, small lifter tick on cold start but is typical, idle is smooth, and wide-open throttle snap sounds good. Oil quality looks good and there's no smoke from the tailpipes. No unusual noises heard from the operating engine. (2 - POST REMOVAL INSPECTION NOTES): Engine overall looks solid with no major issues found during teardown. Timing cover, valve covers, oil cooler gasket and oil pan have some oil leaks. Both front and rear mains look dry. (3 - SHOULD ALWAYS BE DONE): Replacement of timing components, plugs, injectors, pumps, seals, gaskets, hoses, and filters should be done prior to installation for long-term reliability.

Out-of-car inspection: OVERALL ENGINE LOOKS GOOD, DID NOTE SOME OIL LEAKS FROM TIMING COVER, VALVE COVERS, POSSIBLY THE OIL COOLER GASKET AND OR OIL PAN. AS ALWAYS, RECOMMEND ANY SERVICE AND WEAR ITEMS SUCH AS TIMING CHAINS, BELTS, GUIDES , TENSIONERS, SPARK PLUGS , INJECTORS, PUMPS, SEALS ,GASKETS AND FILTER BE SERVICED BEFORE ENGINE BE PUT BACK INTO SERVICE.
