ASE Master Mechanic Inspection

Hands-on tested before listing by Mike on July 9, 2026

(1 - RUNNING ENGINE TEST NOTES): Engine runs great, starts right up, idle is smooth, and wide-open throttle snap sounds good. Oil quality looks good and there's no smoke from the tailpipes. No unusual noises heard from the operating engine. (2 - POST REMOVAL INSPECTION NOTES): Engine overall looks solid with no major issues found during teardown. Valve covers have small oil weep, both front and rear mains look dry. The oil pan also appears leak-free. (3 - SHOULD ALWAYS BE DONE): Replacement of timing components, plugs, injectors, pumps, seals, gaskets, hoses, and filters should be done prior to installation for long-term reliability.

In-car test: Engine starts up and runs good, idle is nice and smooth and wide open throttle snap sounds good. Pending a compression test and physical check this will be a unit.

Out-of-car inspection: Overall engine looks good, did note a small oil weep by valve covers. As always, I recommend any service and wear items such as timing chains, belts, guides , tensioners, spark plugs , injectors, pumps, seals, gaskets and filter be serviced before engine is put back into service.
